What is the Intercultural Club?

The Intercultural Club is a recurring gathering for curious minds who want to explore culture, communication, and human connection through shared experiences. Each session focuses on a different theme and invites participants into experiential learning moments designed to spark reflection, conversation, and discovery while building meaningful community connections across cultures.
Do I need prior knowledge of intercultural communication?

Not at all. The sessions are designed for anyone curious about culture, communication, and human interaction. No academic background or professional expertise is required, just openness to reflection, dialogue, and shared discovery.
Is this a training or a workshop?

The sessions are designed as experiential learning gatherings, blending elements of workshops, guided conversations, and community experiences. The focus is on discovery, reflection, and shared learning rather than formal training.
What happens during a typical session?

Each session combines experiential learning, guided reflection, and small-group interaction. Activities may include creative play, movement-based exercises, art, music, storytelling, dialogue, sensory exploration, and experiential design tools that help surface cultural perspectives and everyday communication habits.
Can I attend only one session of the club?

Yes. While each gathering can be attended independently, the sessions are designed as a broader journey, gradually deepening cultural awareness, communication insight, and intercultural intelligence through a series of immersive experiences.

How many people attend each session?

Sessions are intentionally limited to approximately 25 participants to maintain an interactive atmosphere and allow meaningful connection between participants.

The sessions are designed for anyone living or working across cultures, including international and local professionals, entrepreneurs, students, educators, researchers, creatives, and those curious about intercultural communication and human connection.
The group is intentionally diverse, creating rich conversations across cultures and perspectives.
Is this event suitable for introverts?

Yes. Activities are designed to allow participation at different comfort levels. Many exercises happen in pairs or small groups to create a safe and welcoming environment.
What language are the sessions held in?
Sessions are conducted in English to allow participation from international and local attendees.
Do I have to speak or participate actively?
Participation is encouraged but always voluntary. The sessions are designed so that participants can engage at their own comfort level.

What kind of atmosphere can I expect?
The Intercultural Club is designed to be a welcoming, respectful, and curious environment where participants can share perspectives, reflect on experiences, and connect with others.

Will I meet new people?

Yes. The sessions intentionally include small group conversations and collaborative moments that allow participants to meet and interact with others in the room.
What happens if I cannot attend after registering?
Tickets are generally non-refundable, but they may be transferred to another person if you notify the organizer in advance.
Is the Intercultural Club accessible?
A. We aim to create a space that is as inclusive and accessible as possible across different needs. The DAI building has a barrier-free entrance with automatic doors and elevator access. The library itself does not have automatic doors, but doors will be open, or someone will be available nearby to assist when needed.
B. The sessions are designed to support different ways of participating, including listening, observing, speaking, or reflecting at your own pace. You’re always welcome to step out, take a pause, or engage in ways that feel comfortable to you.
C. For additional accessibility needs (such as visual, hearing, or other specific accommodations), we kindly ask that you reach out at least one week in advance so we can do our best to support your experience, by sending your request to: events@rahafabuobeid.com
Will food and drinks be served?
Light refreshments and drinks will be available, including vegetables, dips, chips, cheese, water, herbal tea, and wine.
To support the flow of the session, participants are encouraged to enjoy refreshments during the designated community connections breaks. The focus of the gathering is the shared learning experience rather than a full meal.

The Intercultural Club blends experiential learning, intercultural exploration, and community building. Instead of lectures or presentations, participants explore cultural questions together through guided interactive experiences, conversation, and shared reflection.
